“A sunny visit to the beautiful Sizergh Castle and Gardens inspired us to create our Spring at Sizergh print. Sizergh Castle, located near Helsington in the county of Cumbria, is a country estate and home of the Strickland family with a rich history dating back to the fourteenth and fifteenth century. The garden includes a lake, a historic kitchen garden and a beautiful rock garden. The estate is famous for its biodiversity, wildlife and birds.
The Spring at Sizergh print
The Spring at Sizergh print contains a bright selection of British spring blooms and slender foliage on a silver-grey background. Drawings of ranunculus, daffodils, Helleborus and daisies are arranged into small bouquets and bundles, which create a soft, sunny look. We chose cream, yellow, may green and silver to create a fresh and modern colour palette with the detailed flowers adding a touch of luxury and sophistication.
In spring, a sea of Lakeland and dwarf daffodils carpets the gardens surrounding Sizergh Castle. Spotting the first green of the season and seeing nature awake after winter is a beautiful experience in the countryside. © Photo: WOWGT
