We feel ready for warmer days, and we can’t wait to see buds of green pop up on trees and early flowers showing spring is on the way. While the 20th officially marks the first day of spring, we’re also excited for Mother’s Day, which is celebrated in the UK on the 26 of March this year, and St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th. Introducing: Devon Primrose

The delicate primrose was chosen as county flower of Devon in a vote held in the early 2000s. From March through May, the hedgerows, riverbanks, and fields of Devon overflow with thick bushels of creamy yellow blooms. Primroses flower beautifully in Devon’s mild climate and can be found as early as January. For our Devon Primrose pattern, we created drawings of the yellow-petaled wild primrose and pink varieties set on an aqua-coloured backdrop. We love the feminine look of this design, and consider it an homage to the dreamy spring countryside of Devon.

For our Devon primrose pattern, we paired clusters of blooms with individual flowers. Instead of combining different flowers, we chose to focus only on the humble primrose in this print.
