8 Quick & Easy Essential Oil Gifts for an Essential Oil Gift Basket

With just 8 ingredients, my easy essential oil gifts only require 5 minutes or less. These simple homemade beauty recipes and DIY home fragrance ideas are great as standalone gifts or can be combined to create a beautiful essential oil gift basket.

Yeah, you read that right. You only need 8 inexpensive ingredients to make all 8 essential oil recipes. Homemade gifts are fun, but the costs for materials can add up quickly, especially when buying natural and organic ingredients.

To keep the shopping list short and expenses down, I developed each recipe with limited number of ingredients and made sure that each ingredient can be used in multiple recipes. This way, you get the most out of everything.

Materials for easy essential oil gifts

Before we get into the easy essential oil recipes, let’s talk briefly about the 8 ingredients that we need for my easy essential oil gifts:

  • melt and pour soap base –  I used my favourite goat’s milk soap base, but you can make my easy essential oil gifts also with another melt and pour soap base.
  • white beeswax pastilles – Beeswax has many skincare benefits. It helps the skin to retain moisture and protects the skin from drying out. If you want to make vegan beauty products, use jojoba wax for the homemade skincare recipes and soy wax for the DIY home fragrances ideas.
  • coconut oil – Coconut oil is a versatile ingredient in DIY skincare recipes and for good reason! The oil is very moisturizing and will make your skin feel hydrated and supple. If preferred, you can, swap coconut oil with shea butter in most recipes.
  • granulated sugar – What is the best sugar for lip scrub and sugar scrub cubes? I chose white cane sugar, but brown or muscovado sugar will work, too.
  • pink Himalayan salt – Himalayan salt is said to have many benefits, including improved skin hydration and balanced skin moisture levels, improved skin health and relief from skin issues. You can also use dead sea salt, Epsom salt or even table sea salt.
  • rose otto essential oil – I love the smell of roses and scented the DIY essential oil gifts with rose otto essential oil. Rose essential oils can be quite pricey, but this EO is affordable. For other scents, try lavender, jasmine, geranium, or ylang-ylang essential oil.

Optional ingredients

The following two ingredients are optional, and you can make these easy essential oil recipes without them. But the essential oil gifts look much prettier with a little colour and a sprinkling of dried rose petals, so I highly recommend them.

You can buy these materials online by tabbing/clicking on the links. Alternatively, you’ll also find most of these items in craft stores. Again, lots of options!

Nikki

Wednesday 22nd of April 2020

Hello Question I have: will the lip balm keep it’s shape and not melt if kept in a purse or car during warm to hotter months?

Irena | Country Hill Cottage

Wednesday 22nd of April 2020

Hi Nikki! The balm will start to soften and melt at around 120°F.

A parking car can get a lot hotter than 120°F in summer, so that might not be the best place to keep the balm.

Your purse should be fine, I would just make sure to keep the purse out of direct sunlight.

In case that the balm does melt, put it in the fridge until solid again.

I hope this helps! xx
