Spa gift basket with homemade beauty gifts – Holiday relaxation gift box
Christmas is less than two weeks away (seriously, how did that happen?!) and today, I have a holiday spa gift basket for you. I’ve been sharing plenty of candy cane/peppermint beauty gifts and stocking stuffers in the past few weeks and thought it would be fun to put together a beauty hamper with these homemade beauty recipes.
I love giving spa gift basket ideas to all the wonderful people in my life. Homemade Christmas gifts are a heartfelt way to say Merry Christmas, express appreciation and share some holiday cheer. Some people can be hard to shop for, but I don’t think that you can go wrong with these relaxation gift basket ideas.
A spa gift basket is perfect for any lady on your gift list this year. This candy cane themed spa basket is a great gift idea for women, girls, a teen or tween. You can create mini gifts with just a few items to make affordable holiday gifts for teachers, neighbours, co-workers, coaches, or the mail lady.
I filled up the gift basket with homemade Christmas beauty gifts. But don’t think you have to DIY everything. A mix of homemade and store-bought can be a wonderful present, too. The possibilities are endless. After all, it’s the thought that counts and a DIY spa gift basket is a very thoughtful present.
But before we have some fun and make a beautiful homemade spa gift basket, I want to discuss a serious issue: potentially harmful chemicals that are found in many commercial spa gift boxes.
Commercial spa gift sets are cute but…
Go to any mall or beauty store during the holiday season, and you’ll see cute little spa gift baskets with lotions, bath bombs, and face masks being sold everywhere. These beauty gift boxes are beautifully designed and seem like a perfect gift for women and girls.
I’m often tempted to buy these beauty kits for my sister or girlfriends. But it’s really important to pay attention to the ingredients as these products often contain potentially harmful and toxic materials that can disrupt the endocrine system and lead to issues like infertility, hormonal imbalance and allergies.
The skin is our largest organ. These ingredients get absorbed into the bloodstream within seconds. Children are at an even higher risk. Their bodies are still growing, and their skin will absorb up to 50% more chemicals than an adult, which can lead to diseases later in life.
Of course, not all premade wellness gift kits and spa gift baskets are bad. Many companies and artisan manufacturers offer organic skincare and beauty products that are safe to use and great choices for organic spa gift baskets. So even if you don’t want to make DIY Christmas gifts, you still have healthy options.

Other supplies for a relaxation gift box
Here’s a list of supplies you’ll need for how to make a holiday spa gift basket:
You can find a great selection of inexpensive gift baskets on Amazon. Here are a few ideas that would be great for a homemade holiday spa gift basket:
Ribbons and decorations
I used ribbon, twine and cellophane to package the natural beauty gifts and to decorate this unique relaxation gift idea. If you have, you can also string a few ornaments to this inexpensive gift basket.
Small towels or washcloths, scented candles, wax melts, or a holiday room spray are excellent items for a pampering basket. If you need luxury spa gifts for some special and want to spend a little more, you can also make a relaxation gift set with a robe or a cosy blanket.
Food and treats
Since the theme of the self care box is candy cane, don’t forget to include a few actual candy canes. Christmas cookies, festive holiday truffles cookies, wine or a tea blend are also great addition to include in a relaxation gift for her or pamper yourself gift basket idea. Again, you can whip up homemade food gifts or pick up delicious treats from the store.
