How to assemble a DIY beauty fall gift basket
Here is how you build your own gift basket:
- Put the large and heavy item first into the gift basket. The bath salt and a jar of whipped body butter were the first things I put into my basket.
- Then add smaller and lighter items. In case of my homemade gift basket, I added the body scrub and pumpkin spice soap.
- Next, place small and flimsy gifts into the basket, like the lip balm and a bath bomb.
- Finally, attach the printable “Homemade Spa Kit” label. I applied the label with double sided tape, but you can also punch a hole into the label and tie with a ribbon to a basket handle.
If you have to travel to the recipient by car or train, it’s a good idea to wrap the your hamper gift in cellophane to protect the content from falling out.
How to package bath bombs for a spa kit
To package the bath bombs for this fall gift basket, I cut cellophane squares, put a bath bomb in the middle and tied the bundle with a piece of natural twine. Homemade bath bombs are softer compared to glass jars. So, never put bath bombs under anything heavy but on top. Otherwise you could risk damaging the bath bomb.
How to package soap for a for a DIY beauty hamper
First, I wrapped the pumpkin spice melt and pour soap bars tightly in plastic wrap / clingfilm. The plastic wrap / clingfilm is also useful to prevent soap sweating and preserving the fragrance.
Then, I packaged the soap in kraft paper and used the printable soap wrappers to decorate the gift. The rustic look of brown kraft paper suits this fall-themed gift basket well, don’t you think?

The gift basket I used came with a fabric lining. You could also use a pretty napkin or autumn a nice scarf to line your fall gift basket. We already talked about how to pack a gift basket. Now let’s turn it into a stunning beauty gift!
If you want, you can fill empty spots with additional decorations. I used a few cinnamon sticks and anise stars to cover up small spots and fresh flowers to cover up larger gaps. I’m a florist and always have fresh flowers around, of course silk flowers will be just as pretty!
