Materials

  • 65 g (1/3 cup) pure shea butter
  • 30 g (2 tbsp) cacao butter

Instructions

  1. Melt the shea and cacao butter. Fill a saucepan 1/3 with water and bring to a mild simmer. Add the shea butter, cocoa butter, apricot kernel oil, and jojoba oil into a heatproof bowl and place on top of the saucepan. The water shouldn’t touch the bottom of the bowl. Stir constantly until the mixture has completely melted and no lumps of shea butter remain.
  2. Freeze the mixture. Once melted, set the mixture aside for ten minutes to cool while stirring constantly. Then put the body butter into the freezer for 15 minutes.
  3. Whip the body butter. Using an electric mixer or whisk, whip the cold mixture until fluffy and almost doubled in volume. Lastly, stir in the essential oil and cornflour (cornstarch).
