Nourishing Avocado Facial Mask
Revive your skin with a nourishing avocado facial mask! I don’t know about you, but the constant change between radiator air (hello comfy living room) and chilly winds (hello London winter) tends to dry out my skin, which I try to remedy with extra nourishing skin care. My favourite winter essentials are our extra rich body butter, 5-minute lip-balm, and this avocado facial mask. The mask is made with only 3 ingredients and will make your skin feeling nourished, replenished, and rested. Avocados are rich in vitamins E and B and have moisturising properties. Honey, especially raw and unpasteurised, is full of antioxidants, moisturises and helps to soothe irritations. Lemons are natural cleansers, and the vitamin C is said to protect your skin from the effects of ageing. The avocado facial mask is a great year-round beauty DIY. In summer, put the mask in the fridge for 30 minutes before use and enjoy a cooling and refreshing effect. During the winter months, the rich oils of the avocado mask will help to combat dry skin. I also love using the avocado facial mask on the back of my hands to refine the appearance of the skin. Have any tips for winter skincare? Let me know in the comments!

We created printable labels, which you can download at the end of the post if you want to gift the face mask to a friend or to decorate your storage jar.
Avocado Facial Mask
If you want to boost the nourishing effect of the avocado facial mask even more add a few drops Hyaluronic acid serum or concentrate and prepare as described.
- 1 ripe avocado
- freshly squeezed juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 tbsp clear honey
1) Mix the avocado facial mask
Using a blender or food processor, puree the avocado until smooth. Stir in the lemon juice and honey and optionally Hyaluronic acid serum or concentrate. Mix well to combine. Use immediately.
2) Use the avocado facial mask
Remove makeup and cleanse the area you want to treat. Apply and massage an even layer of the mask in circular motions on your face, neck, and décolleté for 1 to 2 minutes. Avoid the eye and lip area. Cover with a towel or paper towel and leave for 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water gently pat dry. We recommend using this mask 2 to 3 times a week.
3) Store and shelf life of the mask
You can keep the avocado facial mask for up to 7 days in an airtight plastic container or glass jar. Don’t store the mask in a metallic container or bowl as the lemon juice can react with the metal.
Materials: avocado, honey, lemons
Print the labels
We recommend printing the labels on self-adhesive vinyl sheets. Vinyl sheets are water-resistant and will ensure the label stays pretty, and the colours don’t come off when exposed to water or humidity. Vinyl sheets can be found in printing shops or online. They are available for inkjet as well as for laser printers and can be used in the same way as regular printing paper. We used Photo Paper Direct’s A4 Inkjet Creative Vinyl Stickers Matt to print our labels. The labels come in different size giving you many options when choosing a container or jar.
